Property Description
We can't imagine a better place to live in Toronto than Harbourfront! On a beautiful day with gorgeous blue skies, you can easily walk to work in the Financial District. At the end of the day, leave the steel and glass towers behind where you approach your fabulous downtown waterfront neighbourhood and watch the sailboats on Lake Ontario.
For shopping, everything you need is close by: a Shoppers Drug Mart down the street, the main FedEx drop-off / depot in the other direction, dry cleaners, banks and several hair dressers and salons. Best of all, there is a walk-in clinic in the same building with friendly and caring physicians (who are accepting patients!). It is attached to the pharmacy, so it's basically one-stop to see the doctor and pick up your prescription. Right across the street is Queens Quay Terminal which has unique stores to pick up gifts, or special items for yourself. Tilley Endurables is an example, great for when you are planning a trip. Inside the QQT are also several great restaurants: Pink Pearl and Il Fornello, just to name two.
Longos Grocery Store is located diagonally opposite the condo - with lots of prepared foods and specials most weeknights. There’s a Sobeys across the street and a Loblaws over at Jarvis and Queens Quay East. Located right in the Waterclub complex are Quiznos and Pizza Pizza. Just a little further west on Queen's Quay is a great Souvlaki & Falalfal take-out, an Indian Food take-out, a Swiss Chalet take out (and eat-in) and a great Thai restaurant, not to mention "The Wine Rack". Just to the east is Harbourside Grill/Sports Bar which also has great food. A short walk up York Street offers dozens more restaurants, including the popular "e11even" .
The convenience of the streetcar right at the doorstep is unparalleled. It connects underground with Union Station where you can catch the subway or take a Go Train. You can be at the Eaton Centre in 10 minutes, or anywhere up the Yonge corridor in no time. You rarely need to use a car - it's much easier to take the streetcar/subway - not only is it faster, but you don't have to find somewhere to park (and pay exorbitant parking rates). If you have to drive, the parking garage exits on to Lakeshore Blvd and the ramps to the Gardiner Expressway are right there: the westbound ramp is at York St, and the eastbound ramp to the DVD is at Bay St. You don't have to drive through the city! Taxis are always parked across the street.
You could head across the street for a leisurely coffee at the Second Cup at the quaint Toronto Harbour Commissioner’s Pier 6 building and sit and listen to the sounds of the waterfront. Prefer Starbucks or Tim Hortons? They're both here too!
Walks along the Queens Quay Boardwalk cannot be beat; whether you are people watching or watching the boats in the harbour. Take a dinner cruise, or rent a boat or kayak. Take sailing lessons! Harbourfront has so much to offer: parks, skating rinks, a pond, theatre, international food fairs and bazaars, Pawsway (if you have a four-legged friend), a concert stage or sunbathing on the beach at H2O Park or Sugar beach. Rent a Bixi Bike (Station is at the condo) and take the bicycle path east to the Leslie Street Spit and the Beaches boardwalk or west to Etobicoke.
For local entertainment, the Theatre District (and more restaurants) are about a 15 minute walk. The Roger's Centre (Skydome), CN Tower, Air Canada Centre and Ferry to the Toronto Islands are all a 10 minute walk. In the downtown area, there are more fabulous restaurants, including: Baton Rouge, The Keg, The Spaghetti Factory, Indian Cuisine and my personal favourite: the Marche (otherwise known as Richtree) Memorable dinners can be experienced at the top of the CN Tower in the revolving restaurant.
This is a terrific safe and secure building with friendly and helpful 24-hr concierge. The FOBS security system is great: you can only get off on your own floor (therefore, others cannot get off on your floor!) or the amenities floor, so it’s very safe. There are excellent facilities… well-equipped exercise room, separate weight room, an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with sunny terrace, four Large barbecues and great Harbourfront and lake views. Yoga classes and personal fitness trainers are available for a small fee. It’s incredibly convenient taking the elevator down a few floors and going to the gym or the pool or for a sauna after work. Several meeting rooms are available for rent, or throw a bash in the large party room.
The convenience of this location can’t be beat - especially if you work downtown. In the words of the current home owner “Most of all, I will miss being so close to work. It's a 10 minute walk to my office tower. I look out one of my windows and can see the Gardiner Expressway westbound and all the brake lights - and feel sorry for the hundreds of cars creeping along in rush-hour. I'm already home, having my glass of wine and preparing dinner.”
This gorgeous, spacious, sunny south-facing 822 sf suite (as per builder) is open concept through the living, dining room and granite kitchen, with its island and breakfast bar. All three rooms have great views of Harbourfront, Lake Ontario, the Toronto Islands, the Queens Quay Terminal across the street and Toronto Harbour. “I will miss, most of all, the great views of the water. No matter how hectic or stressful my day, there is nothing so relaxing as watching the boats on the water when I get home. It's also a very peaceful way to start my day, along with a cup of coffee.”
Although officially speaking, this spacious unit is a one bedroom plus large den, it is essentially a a two-bedroom unit with two full baths. The washroom across from the second bedroom is a three-piece, with a shower stall. The master bedroom is spacious and bright - the space-saving sliding barn doors give you two openings, one of which takes advantage of the southern exposure of the living / dining room. It has a four-piece ensuite bathroom and a walk-in closet. There is a large clothes closet in the hall as well as a four foot wide linen closet. Not to mention the stacked washer & dryer in another closet.
The large solarium / den is wired for cable & Fibe TV/Tel/Internet. Position your desk so you, too, can overlook the harbour while working. Gorgeous light hardwood floors run through the main area, with ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathrooms and carpeting in the two bedrooms. The kitchen has lots of cabinets and counter space. The great layout of this suite makes it spacious, bright and comfortable. Walk out through sliding glass doors to the balcony and enjoy the spectacular sunrise and sunset views!
One of the best features of this suite is that the locker is located just down the hall! On the other floors, the lockers are located in the underground parking levels. This allows you to use your locker as an overflow pantry. Load up on all those sale items and don't be afraid to go to Costco!
Included are: Fridge, stove, dishwasher, stacking washer and dryer, all electric light fixtures, and all window coverings.
Special Features Include: Great southern exposure with gorgeous Harbourfront, lake and island views; balcony PLUS sunroom; lots of storage. One locker (#18) and one parking space (P2-E14) are included.
You could be enjoying your spectacular suite and fabulous downtown living before the end of the year!
